While you can't trade with another emulator or rom file, theres 2 things I'd recommend. Download the Universal Pokemon Randomiser and run your ROM file through it, making sure to only enable the 'change impossible evolutions' option. This will allow trade evolutions to occur at a set level instead (lvl 40 I believe). Trade between gen 3 games arevery much possible, try to use VBA with link feature Palpark on Gen IV absolutely works on Desmume. Just use the internal firmaware of desmume instead of the external ones, and have proper format of the.sav file of the third gen game and place it on the battery folder of desmume, place the rom of the 3rd gen game in slot the gba slot menu on desmume and i am.

I've checked my game to see if it happens too. It does.
Just to make the point, the trading function is regularly some function that needs a Wifi (previously a kind of cable or a wireless adapter in GBA).
Though the developers put a few 'trading' NPCs over the game, which don't need a Wifi connection, you just complete their requirements and they give you whatever they're supposed to. So it doesn't occur because of a Wifi incompatibility problem, as much as a really novice programmer, nah, as much as a regular player can tell.
Anyways, i've made a video of that, and by the way that's the first thing I saw that Desmume doesn't support while NO$ supports, unless for speed, at least in that specific game (or series of games).

P.S, I recorded it using Desmume, and using a ffdshow codec, just to let you guys know. But since you guys programmed the program, I bet you have most (if not all) of the codecs you included there lol.

Another P.S, although the thread maker used 0.9.2, I used 0.9.4, and it still occurs.
